 My first time back to Kendell's in a couple years. Some positive changes to the place since my last time. The stage has been added to and is bigger, which helps a lot when you're my size.  Did some community outreach with Your Mom's Place at a local Assisted Living Center. They paired me up with Brandon Kennedy, a great local musician from a couple bands. We kind of did a back and forth backing each other up. The folks at the center did have requests, but none we knew. They were asking for things like Bon Jovi and we had showed up prepared to play some classic country gold. Haha. This ended up being one of the funnest gigs I've done in a while. Completely laid back and the audience were great. They all had questions for us and asked us to come back soon. I can't wait to get back.

 Monday nights Open Mic sessions. I canceled out Bum Fight due to non-payment. So it will be no more. For the time being we are still doing the Unwired Records Open Mic at Hideaway though. First set I was in a bad mood from someone disrespecting me, so I started playing a bunch of rude shit to piss him off. After that some friends came out and I ended up having a good time. Started off with seminars to help people out including things like how to tune a drumset on through to figuring out how to fill out those copyright forms to protect your music.  Today I did a solo set to kick off the Punk BBQ. It was a blast. Originally to be held at Your Mom's Place, it was the only gig not moved until last minute. It was held at the new property that hopefully will become Your Mom's Place in the future. Great building. Lots of room. Bar side and all ages side. Wonderful line-up, a few I've been meaning to see for a while and some I haven't got to see in a long time. Shared the stage with Death Squad, WMD, Violent Affair and The Dirty Mugs.  Train Wreck Variety Show at Your Mom's Place. Not a lot of performers this week, but Ryan Pogue from Deathbox was there. We jammed a little with him on drums and me on guitar before the rest of the band got there and then in-between sets he did some guitar with Matt on drums.  My second week filling in as host for the Train Wreck Variety Show. Attendance was a little low and I filled in more time performing this week. Did a pretty long set, taking requests. One annoying drunk redneck in the audience that I just couldn't satisfy. Still, was a good fun time.  This was my first gig in 2017. Originally I was booked solo to open for Darlington, but he had the flu so they added a couple local acts. One of which was Isaiah Harrell's new band, Eyeless Watchers. So, we did our Prairie Fire thing. Show was a blast, everyone that played was great and the audience was awesome. Look forward to heading back to Your Mom's Place soon to hit up some of their new jam nights.

Day Two of my State Fair gigs for 2016. This one was on the bandshell stage in the afternoon. Hot. Bright. Uncomfortable. Our performance went a lot smoother, as the second one always does. Just a matter of getting comfortable censoring myself and changing lyrics. Once the first gig is out of the way it's comes natural. Had a good audience. Older folks that really enjoyed what we do. Usually on the bandshell stage it's just passersby stopping for a song or two, but we pulled in quite a few that stayed for the entire set.
