 Last night was a blast. Played at a small joint called Your Mom's Place in OKC. I actually drove right by it the first time. It's a cool little dive bar. Friendly staff. Good taste in music. The touring act was From Parts Unknown out of Texas. I missed them because I had to bail for work. James Bond Dracula was the inbetween act. Those guys were great. During my set lots of random backing vocals coming from thier table, plus they cam up and drummed for me. I actually played through 8 songs before I realized I was playing the setlist for a different show and had left out the "V-Day" type songs I planned. A Clockwork Orange was projected onto the wall behind me during my set. It was all pretty badass.

The show went pretty smooth for a first time event. More people showed than I expected for one that was for such a specific sub-genre.  Went to the bus station to pick a friend up and, as is the case many times with greyhound, it was running behind. To pass the time away I pulled out my guitar and sang some songs, a few I was a little rusty on, and made a few bucks in the process. It felt good. I felt like I was going back to my roots. I used to play bus stations all the time, when I couldn't get a gig and was traveling around.

 Last night's Universe City Open Mic I also happened to be the host of the show. Stephen Tyler took the night off to go out and celebrate his birthday. The switch in days I think cut the amount of musicians that showed up to play, but it gave everyone a longer set. Everyone we had show up were quality musicians and songwriters. It was very cool. We had Canon Simmons, Kerry Wayne, Bryan Coke, Isaiah Harrell and Mike Black. Each played around fifteen to twenty minutes and then I closed off the night with a short solo set and a few of them came up on stage with me. Ended up being a very cool night.
