 I stopped into my favorite hangout in Norman, The Red Brick Bar, and saw a few friends and had a drink. The stage was set up like someone was going to play. No one knew who. Ended up being my friend Canon. It was a last minute when one of his others fell through. I think this might be his third or fourth gig now. He was up there for a bit and I joined him on a Cash cover. Much higher octave than what I normally do. It was interesting and fun. It also got everyone clapping and dancing. Had a good time.

 Well, when there is a gathering of artists it's usually impossible for us not to perform. Boobzilla of the Oh No! Variety show was there and convinced to do her sideshow act. I lost the connection piece to connect an ipod up to my p.a., so I played music while she performed. We haven't worked together in a couple years, so this was a lot of fun. I jammed out different riffs for each act. Sometimes an original, sometimes a song we knew. The most epic was for the strip-tease/chair lift when we had an extended version of "Adventure Time".

 This time I was booked for my friends Duvy and Pandy's birthday party. I never know what to expect from these things. It's never a set time frame and I don't know if they are wanting the "concert" experience or background music. It ended up being the "concert" experience. I had fun seeing old friends and hanging out. My friend Peter played drums for a bit with me and I've never heard him play. So that was fun. I did a set up on the p.a. and then a short one down on the couch more personal like with a couple songs.

 This was my first time to play Mooney's. It's small, I was glad I didn't bring the whole band because there was barely room for the three of us on stage. My friend Chris from the Norman Weekender booked me to play a Domestic Abuse Awareness Benefit there. There were a lot of talented people playing that I had not heard before. Sound check ended up being a medley of cartoon themes when they found out I could play them. After that we blazed through a set.

 So, we just heard about a newer venue in OKC called the Voodoo Lounge. They host an open mic on Thursdays, so Isaiah and I went to check it out and see what it was about. Very cool set-up. Large club. Kind of a cheesy-cool voodoo theme about the place. Will definitely check it out again.

 Last minute gig I got from a friend on facebook. We drove a couple hours to get out there and set up under the pavilion next to the lake. Had some good times just drinking and hanging out. Beautiful scenery. I played while having to high five a guy every couple minutes in the middle of songs. He was having a good time, and so was I. Did a second set unplugged by the fire later that night before we left.

 Back to Leon's Lounge with the new line-up of Prairie Fire. Sounded a thousand times better than the last time we played there. The Righs opened up and Jason and The Punknecks closed the show. Eddie even joined The Punknecks for their rendition of "Ball & Chain". Sound sucked, we couldn't hear a thing from the monitors, but we still rocked it and had a good time. A lot of old friends showed up and we had cake for Crystal's birthday. It was just a good show all around.

 Some friends asked me to come out to The Red Room and throw down a couple songs. Ran into a lot of people I have not seen in a while. It was nice. The performance however was not. The band backing me up could not keep up with my style. I tried three chord slow ones, but they were off. Still had a good time though and will come back with something more suitable. I enjoyed the solos the lead guitarist threw down and it was nice having my old friend Vance doing some back-up vocals.
