 Did some community outreach with Your Mom's Place at a local Assisted Living Center. They paired me up with Brandon Kennedy, a great local musician from a couple bands. We kind of did a back and forth backing each other up. The folks at the center did have requests, but none we knew. They were asking for things like Bon Jovi and we had showed up prepared to play some classic country gold. Haha. This ended up being one of the funnest gigs I've done in a while. Completely laid back and the audience were great. They all had questions for us and asked us to come back soon. I can't wait to get back.

I got to see old friends I haven't seen in ages, meet some cool new people, watch classic Monster movies all night and eat some of the best food ever.  My second week filling in as host for the Train Wreck Variety Show. Attendance was a little low and I filled in more time performing this week. Did a pretty long set, taking requests. One annoying drunk redneck in the audience that I just couldn't satisfy. Still, was a good fun time. The first of my three state fair gigs this year. Laid back set on the old Beer & Wine Garden Stage, re-named The Patio Stage. Felt a little weary and uncomfortable. So used to bars, when I have my first gig at the fair each year I always feel out of place. Other than that it was alright. Sounded good. Decent audience.

Norman Music Festival's 9th year. It has grown a lot and has made some improvements. This year we played at McNellie's again. Got to follow our friend Dave McDaniel. (who was in top form) The bar was packed. I couldn't hear myself and ended up blowing out my voice by the third or fourth song. I just yelled the rest of the set. Didn't matter, the crowd still seemed to be having fun and we definitely were. We got the entire bar shouting "Fuck!" along to 'White People'.

 Today was the first of this years State Fair gigs. We left an hour and a half early, yet still got caught up in traffic from the OU game and ended up being late. It worked out though, we only cut one song from our setlist. It's a little odd not playing with an instrument, so I did some percussion along with my vocals. Joey sounded great on the acoustic and we got to see a few old friends. It was a good time and has me looking forward to the next one.

 I met a few people at Folklahoma that happened to play so we threw together something before my set began. Emily was interesting on fiddle because she played much differently than the fiddle players I normally work with using a more rhythmic approach. We had a lot of fun and hope to get together again.
