 Last night's Universe City Open Mic I also happened to be the host of the show. Stephen Tyler took the night off to go out and celebrate his birthday. The switch in days I think cut the amount of musicians that showed up to play, but it gave everyone a longer set. Everyone we had show up were quality musicians and songwriters. It was very cool. We had Canon Simmons, Kerry Wayne, Bryan Coke, Isaiah Harrell and Mike Black. Each played around fifteen to twenty minutes and then I closed off the night with a short solo set and a few of them came up on stage with me. Ended up being a very cool night.

 Last night we held Universe City's Open Mic at The Deli. The Prairie Fire were the featured act opening the night off with a full set. This was our first time here as a band since our very first gig a few years ago. Normally this show is the first Wednesday of every month, but because of scheduling conflicts with a touring act it got pushed forward a day to the first Tuesday. Because of this Isaiah wasn't able to come play drums. We had a cat named James Paterson fill in, and he did very well. Fit right in with the rest of us.

 I was out and about with Canon and David having some fun. Went to the Universe City open mic that I used to do regularly at the Deli. Didn't make it early enough to get on the list. Ended up going to O'Connell's where they were hosting a karaoke. Canon wanted to play that so we ended up doing acoustic during the open mic. He signed me up to do "The Life Of An Outlaw", but I ended up playing NIN "The Only Time". After a while there went back to the Deli to close off the night.

Originally I was told we would be on stage 10:30 to 11:30, we started a half hour early, and a good thing too... ended up being 11pm that they wanted us off. Wailed though a set, didn't get to play everything we wanted, but did throw in a couple impromptu numbers. We were joined by The SouthSide KrazyKidz as well. It was great. I love playing the Deli!
